anyone from Long Island? birth certificate?

My daughter was born at stony brook and we filled the papers out and everything. I was just wondering if anyone knows when you receive the s.s card and birth certificate or do I have to go somehwere and get it ?

The social security card should come in the mail within a month of her birth usually less than 2 weeks. 
The birth certificate we had to go to the court house to get, any county court house in the state). All you need is your drivers license and they look it up(at least in MN)
