How'd labor start for you?

Question

When you went into labor, how'd it begin?
Did your water break first and then contractions came later? Or did your waters stay intact and you just spontaneously started having contractions that gradually became more painful and closer together?

I've been told it's a lot less common for your water to break on it's own so I'm very curious to see!

Bllody show then contractions each time both times water was broken for me while i was in transition

I started with contractions but lobored at home so long my water partially broke! 😄

My first my water broke and contractions didn't start till after we got to the hospital and my second was contractions and the broke my water at the hospital

One of my sons was born in less than 2 hours.  I was fast asleep at 1030 and woke with strong contractions, got to hospital at 1220 and had him at 1230am. Still fully clothed +shoes!! Underwear off at the last second!!

I'm interested, too!! I can tell you my sister in law's water broke and that's what sent them to the hospital, not contractions (they didn't start till she was there). I've heard the same thing, that it's more rare to have your water break, first
