Fuck Buddies for the official title..

I really need help with this one, so my boyfriend and I have been together for almost a year now, been living together for 10 months, we now have a house together and all. Well our relationship had been getting a little rocky and he started saying he was getting tired of me bitching all the time, and I tried telling him the tone in my voice he just takes wrong sometimes that I'm not bitching just trying to explain something to him. We had a falling out just this past weekend he told me he wasn't happy anymore, but he seemed to be okay with the fact that we try to work on things. Well then Sunday night I let him know something that someone else said about him, the person telling me how he was gonna go fuck some other girls and all this mess, well I knew it wasn't true so I didn't worry about it, but it eventually came up as we where joking around with each other and he got pissed told me we where done bc he wasn't gonna deal with me accusing him of cheating ( which I never did) his best friend (who was in the room at the time this went down) also said he was over reacting and took what I said too far.. well to my point, I talked to him some last night and he said he doesn't want me to go nowhere but we aren't together we can be fuck Buddies for now, and may even slowly work on things but he's not sure yet. He said I can go fuck other guys (which I don't want to) and then come home to him and he will show me what it really feels like to be fucked.. but he said he wouldn't fuck other girls bc he has what he wants waiting on him at home.. so with all that being said, what are yalls opinions.. idk how to take it he still kisses me goodbye tells me he loves me and all, just don't have the title.. am I setting myself up for failure or is there hope that we might just work things out? Please anyone help me!!
