Fir those worried about their new baby and dog...
This is my mastiff/pitbull mix (have had him since an older puppy, so a couple years now??). My niece (12 months) LOVES him, and same thing. He is super patient and loves playing with her. While my niece sleeps he just stays right there by the playpen. When she wakes up he is ready for play and greets her.
There is some training involved (teaching him no licking, limit his rougher behaivor so he doesn't accidently knock her over, no eating her food out of her hand 😣, etc), but otherwise he is great with her. Wouldn't I leave these two alone for a long period of time?? Probably not as my niece sometimes plays rough, hahaha... It gets into trouble.
I am 22 weeks with a baby boy and have no qualms about having my dog near the baby. While I may not have them crawling around until he is older, I am not worried. ☺️
