Breastfeeding... misery

If one more person tells me it's not supposed to hurt I'm going to scream!

My little one will be 3 weeks old on Friday and I'm still in agony at times while nursing. Her latch is bad and "we're" working on fixing it but I am ready to give up. I haven't done any formula at all and I really don't want to but I'm miserable. My poor nipples are literally black and blue.

I've seen 3 lactation consultants, tried nipple shields, pumping and everything I can think of. I had a hard time with getting my first daughter to latch properly as well and gave up. I was hoping this time would be different.

Anyone else in the same boat?
