Sex before OB appointments?

Question

Can your OB tell if you've had sex recently (last 24 hours maybe) and should it be avoided before appointments? I always have avoided it before OB appointments with my previous pregnancy, but I'm seeing the doctor much more often this time around, so that's kinda getting in my way. 😬

For pap smears you should avoid penetration the day before, otherwise the test might not be accurate (contamination).  Beyond that I haven't heard of any issues.

My OB could tell that I had sex within 48 hours at one appointment 🙈 They're smart people those doctors

Unless you're having a pap test or STD test then it's not a problem.

They can definitely tell, I remember my OB commenting on it once.  Awkward

I only avoid it if they're "getting up in there". Not if it's just a urine sample and weight check. I only avoid it cause when I have my ob has commented on my "redness" hahaha
