If a white African moved to the US, would they be African-American??

Not sure why it would matter but no they would not be if they were born in Africa then they're African only if they were of descent and born in America would they be African American

If you are born in the United States or earned your citizenship than you are an American. If not than you are not an American. American is not white it's a mix of all colors for those who are born in America or earned their citizenship!

The way I see it. I'm a white American because I was born here and black people that were born in America are black American! Now if your from Africa and move here then you are a black African American or white African American.  So your either black American or white American . Unless your from Africa

My fiance is from South Africa. Him and all his family refer to themselves as white African Americans. They do not mean it in a racist way either. That's just how they see themselves.

My father is from Africa and my mother was raised here in the states. That makes my siblings and I first generation African-Americans. They could apply for dual citizenship but even then I don't think they'd be considered African-American.
