Hey babe before you put some nail polish, put some oil on your finger (near your nail) so it will be easy to remove. That's what i do.

If I'm gonna get super messy I use this stuff called The Big Peel by Sally Hansen.. It's meant to be a base coat to make your nail polish peel off, but I put it around my nails on the cuticle so if I miss I can just peel it off when I'm finished.

I also have used a very small stiff paint brush dipped in acetone to clean up the edges. I think it worked better than the Q tip
