Diaper bag, yay or nay?

New mom here and was wondering if a diaper bag is a need?

I just told my husband "oh yeah we forgot about needing a diaper bag" 
To me it's a must have. I have plenty of purses and bags but a diaper bag is made just right! This is my 4th pregnancy and I'm still getting one.

How else do you plan to carry diapers, bottles, wipes, toys, a change of clothes, changing pad and more? You don't need an official diaper bag but you need a bag for baby's stuff

I used my diaper bag for a couple months before swapping out and using an old leather backpack I love!

In my opinion: not at all necessary! You need a bag of some sort to toss a few things in, but it doesn't have to be a $100 + bag that's specifically a "diaper bag" find something you like carrying !

Honestly it depends on how much your going to carry around for your baby, and what style bag you want. I didn't buy an "official shoulder diaper bag" when I had my daughter. I bought a VS stripe canvas backpack. It had pockets on both sides and two zip compartments on the inside. It was super deep so I could put in her necessities, plus a few of my things also without it looking bulky or being heavy. It was great for me, because I used it all the time, and it was easy to get my hubby to wear on his back. I'm excited because now I've seen a lot of versatile shoulder diaper bags, that are shaped different and have straps so you can wear It on your back also.

They are nice when you need all the extra stuff. My daughter was breastfed, never really took a bottle so all I really needed was diapers, wipes a change of clothes and maybe some toys. As she got older I would just put diapers and wipes in my purse and leave the bag in the car and she would sometimes carry a toy with her. I always keep an extra pair of clothes in the car just in case. But now with 2 I might need more space again so I'll probably start taking the diaper bag with me again.

I opted for a backpack because I could actually see it getting used and not being a headache to tote around with a baby in tow. Plus I figured it would get use past the diaper bag days. We'll see if my reasoning was on the right track in February lol.

I'm doing a canvas messenger bag with lots of pockets. It's super sturdy, roomy, and I can wear it even when I don't have the baby with me. It doesn't have to be an official diaper bag.

We definitely did not use ours, I would tote it around at first and then bring it back home untouched. If you are breastfeeding you won't need as much stuff. It really depends on how far and for how long you will be away from home. Some moms just leave a bag in their car. I set up a diaper bag for my mom's house since that is where we most often visit and she is less than 10 minutes away, I don't need anything if I'm within walking distance of my apartment or car 😊

It absolutely is! Normally in my purse I have my wallet, keys and maybe around 3 other things. I could never fit all of the stuff I need for a baby in my purse! I mean, if you have a backpack that you are planning to use go ahead but diaper bags tend to have a lot of useful pockets and zipper compartments

I received one of the tote savvy inserts from my mom. It's amazing! Very organized and I can put it into any bag or backpack that we already own. I didn't want my husband to feel like he has to lug around a purse when I'm not with him and the baby (he's more of a backpack guy) so it works perfectly!
