cervix check?

What was your experience and how far along? I'm going in tomorrow at 37 weeks and if offered not sure if I want to say yes or no. First pregnancy so what you can tell me helps a lot! Thanks mamas!

I waited till 39 weeks to be checked. I don't want to stress over weather in dilated or if labor is going to start. I'm still not going to stress about it either though because your body can go from no where near labor one day to open and ready the next. It's not worth getting hung up on.

I got my first cervix check at 40+2 because my doctor doesn't do one before 40 weeks. She said if I have a very posterior cervix then it will probably be a little uncomfortable, but if the cervix is pretty ripe, then it won't be as bad. Well, I was only a half centimeter dilated, and she said my cervix was still posterior. It was a little uncomfortable and a lot of pressure. Not really painful tho. I just wish I was a little more dilated so I could've had a membrane sweep!

i got checked last week at 36 weeks and i think she's gonna check again today smmfh for me it was super uncomfortable and hurt like a b**ch lmaoo she says it's bc i need to do "pernial" excercies or whatever , but i'm not dialated at all .. but she did say my uterus is pretty tight still smh ugh i hated that visit and not looking forward to this one lol

I got checked a few days ago at 25 weeks. Measures 4.5, and the average is 4-5, so I'm all good.

Personally I don't see the point. All it does is make you anxiously sit at home thinking "I'm 1 and a half cm. Is this random pain I'm feeling labor!?"you can be dilated for days or weeks before birth. So I don't see much of a reason honestly

Mine never hurt.  But my doctor is also super gentle about it.
