Not the labor I was expecting at all... but she's perfect.

Ladies! I know a lot of us don't want to go to every appointment (I mean, we wait more than we are actually seen by the doctor), but please listen to me when I say to GO! They are so important.
Had my regular 37 week check up. Prior to it, I was perfectly healthy always! No high blood pressure, no protein in my urine, no symptoms, everything was literally perfect. Then, in just one week, I developed preeclampsia and who knows where little girl and I would be if I missed this one appointment.
I had wanted a natural, drug free labor. Then at this appointment not only did I learn I'm GBS positive, but I also had to be induced because of preeclampsia!
Started pitocin at 5pm. I was 2cm, 70%. At 4am, my water broke. After laboring with no pain meds for 12+ hours, I was unable to keep going. When people told me pitocin contractions are awful... Boy they're right. I was having the worst contractions every minute. Caved and got an epidural at around 6am, I was about 5cm. Things sped up so quickly after that! By 8am, I was a full 10 and completely effaced.
Started pushing around 8:30am, baby girl came out at 9:02am. Healthy as can be despite being 37 weeks- has the strongest lungs and a very loud cry.
6 pounds and 19 inches... Tegan Grace! OH and also- I got an ultrasound the day before she was born and it predicted 6.5 pounds. So it was pretty accurate for me!
