Are mesh crib bumpers worth the $?

I used them for a few months when my daughter was in the phase where she would stick her arms and legs through. They worked great. I would only put them on when you need them for that.

In the very beginning I would say no they're not necessary, but when they start tossing and turning their little legs and arms get caught in the slots in the crib. I would say yes they are necessary and worth the money but not right away.

I personally use them and think they're great. I wouldn't use it for the first four months but after that when they're tossing and turning and banging their heads I got a mesh one. The same one that's top comment. But i'm going to remove it when ever my LO gets old enough to try to climb out or whenever it makes me nervous. She's 10 months atm so I think it'll be a while.

I'm buying one because my 2 nieces my nephew and my little sister all got stuck in the bars.  Iv seen at Walmart for about 20 bucks.

I asked about these at our birthing class (teacher is labor nurse) and she said no.  Regular bumpers no for sids and these no because unlikely for them to get stuck in the bars.  But every child is different of course, I see some comments here that kids did get stuck in the bars so... idk.
