I'm actually 19 and my boyfriend is 16 1/2
It can be difficult at times like since he has very few responsibilities I feel like he won't understand things or situations the same but I have discovered thanks to him and his continues encouragement to just talk about things that communication is key! We are going on 2 months and he is the 2nd guy I have ever dated and by FAR better than any guy I've been in any sort of romantic relationship. I was his first kiss and he was the 4th for me but the first for a lot of other things. He tries really hard to make me happy and is my best friend. My opinion on age in relationships has changed a LOT. I used to think you couldn't really be in love until you were older, but now I think it is completely individual. It doesn't matter age, gender, or time. Sometimes it just happens. Bow it definitely takes time to make sure it's not just hormones or some little fantasy, but love is a very individualistic thing. I am very much in love with him and started falling in love with him 3 months after he had already started to fall for me. Of course he was too afraid to kiss me and so I had to help him my "chicken hearted Nathan" is what he called himself. And I kissed him lol. Been pretty happy since. Only problem I run into is the occasional fear of will he still love me in a year or more and he hates that I ever think that but admits he is worried that I'll do the same sometimes. I'm pretty sure I've found the love of my life though. Whether it ends up being forever or not.

I was 15 when me and my boyfriend met and he was 19. We're still together now at 18 and 22 and we have are own house and a puppy. Everything's great.

It's just the awkward years that are in between "legal". Nothing is wrong with it but like the other comments sex can be a legal issue. I know I couple who are married 5-6 years now and are 18! years apart (both legal and actually they're SOOO perfect for each other. She was over 18 when they started dating). It's only 3 yrs so yes...16/19 is fine.

I got with my boyfriend when I was 13 and he was almost 19.... It was definitely messed up, I know that. But now I'm 19 and he will be 25 in July. Been together for almost 6 years. So 16 and 19? Definitely not a problem.

As long as they arent having sex, here in TX its ok. Just know that the 19 year old can be proscuted by the state for statutory rape whether you press charges or not. The 19 year old will forever be on the sex offenders list. But other than that age is nothing but a number.

I think it's wrong for my children. While it's not numerically a big difference, I can't understand why someone who's in the adult stage of their life would still be interested in a person that isn't. When I was 19 i was in the military. So, no I wouldn't be okay with my children doing it

I've always got to wonder what a grown up wants with a child. Even with a seemingly small age gap he's supposed to be making a life and preparing for a future family while you have sleep overs and talk about boys you go to school with. Just seems really odd to me that a legal adult would want to be with someone who still has a childhood to enjoy.

If my 16 yo brought home a 19 yo I'd be an upset mommy. It's more about you enjoying your childhood and him growing up. Trust you have plenty of time to find a relationship.
