13 years old. I've had my period for about 5 months. what should I be using? I've been using mostly tampons is that bad?

Tampons are fine; just make sure to change them out regularly

Pads are NOT "better", as long as you use tampons as directed.
Do not sleep in them and change them every 4-6 hours, ideally (NEVER to exceed 8- says that on the box).

Don't sleep in them even if you sleep for less than 8 hours. Get a pack of fruit of the loom panties and some pads for night time use and wear your cute panties when you aren't on your period.

For extra protection- I use tampons during the day and a thong pad. It makes me feel better to know theres a little barrier just in case. They are by carefree.

If your not sexually active I advise against tampons they usually not comfortable but if you insist then try platex sport you can move around a lot no leaks the first day or two I say wear the large vs regular.. N if you sleep in tampon put on a small panty liner to protect your undies because it will be in for about 8 hrs.. You should be changing them ever 3-4hrs

Pads are better just for the health of your vagina. When you get off your period clean well in the shower and you should be good. Sometimes you may get discharge before or after that's normal, try to keep it as dry around that area as possible and good underwear specifically used as period panties are needed. Because if you don't have them you will ruin your other ones.

Tampons are okay but make sure you change them every few hours, depending on your flow. If they hurt, use pads. And at night use pads. If you leave a tampon in too long, your body can go into toxic shock.
