Pack and play VS bassinet

I am wondering what would be better to keep at our bedside overnight. A pack and play or a bassinet. I know plenty of babies sleep in pack and plays, but is this something I would really want to drag out to the living room every day back-and-forth. He will have a crib in his room of course, but I was ideally thinking about putting a pack and play in the living room for the day. So I'm not sure if it's worth getting the bassinet by the bed. I'm not sure if it would be too much. Opinions? Ideas?
