Copper IUD?

Question

I recently got a copper IUD, Paragard. I was under the impression that periods would remain normal, and unlike a normal IUD with hormones they wouldn't stop? This last period I had was literally 2 days with a very light flow, has anyone else experienced that after gettin an IUD? It's been a month since I got it.

During the first few months of getting a iud your period will be out of whack and youll get spotting, after 3 months it should go back to or similar to your regular cycle

Strange.  Are you sure you or the copper one?  It is more common for it to cause extra heavy and sometimes longer periods.  Always individual, and takes time to adapt though.

Is this the 10year IUD? Only asking because I'm planning on getting this because of the same reason. They had told me it wouldn't change my period--wouldn't stop it.
