Heavier period during TTC?

This is my 3rd cycle of TTC. Just noticed the past 2 cycles that my period became heavier when we started TTC. Is this coincidence? Or could it be that the leftover semen causes the heavier period? I was also wondering if I had been having chemical pregnancies without me knowing lol.

What kind of birth control were you using prior to ttc? Hormonal birth control often lightens your periods, so without the hormones you're going to have a potentially heavier period.
