Announcing pregnancy Too soon?

Question

My hubby really wants to announce it to the world on New Year's Day, I will be 10weeks exactly, we have had an ultrasound at 8w5d and heard and saw strong heartbeat. Is it too early and risky to announce it publicly then?

Our doctor told us when we saw the heartbeat at 8 weeks that our risk then dropped to below 5%. We always said we would keep it to ourselves until 2nd trimester but after seeing that beautiful heartbeat we just couldn't keep it secret. Do what feels right to you both.

We have told some friends. I had to let my work know right away as I am high risk. Everyone at work is always checking up on me and another coworks as we are about 3 wks apart. We plan to make announcements after our 8 week appt to send out and once we know they were recieved we then plan to tell everyone on facebook. I have had 2 mc and believe me it sucks to tell everyone you lost your baby, but you have support if you. I really hope God will let us keep this baby.

My SO and I took the test together it came up positive and I called my mom right away and told her! After I got my blood test confirmed when I was 3 weeks and 4 days I told my dad and siblings. We told his parents and siblings when I was about 6-7 weeks. I told close friends too. I'm the type of person that needs the support and God forbid something would happen I would be comfortable with the people I told about the pregnancy, knowing. I'm now almost 9 weeks and things are going fine. My first appointment is Monday. Tell when you feel comfortable!! Congrats ?

It's honestly up to you guys but I would wait. My cousin announced on Facebook that she was pregnant at 8 weeks and she lost the baby. Then a friend of mine just announced she was pregnant two weeks ago and she was 9 weeks pregnant and they just told us on xmas eve that they had a miscarriage. I think you will be fine but for me I look at it like this.  I would rather get into my 2nd trimester and tell people because I know it's safer. And if something bad does happen well then only my DH and maybe my parents would know but I wouldn't have to explain and anwser everyone's questions if something happens. Good luck and congrats!!

I announced right after my first appt which was when I was 8 weeks. It just depends on how you feel. Don't let anyone make you feel like you are making a mistake by announcing sooner than "normal". You are your own person. I believe it should be up to you and your husband/so. (:

I'm 12w2d now and announced to family and friends on Christmas day. we had an ultrasound at 8w4d so we had already seen the heart beating. It's so nice to get it out in the open and be able to share your excitement with everyone xx

I did it at 10 weeks!! My doctor told me I was good and the heart beat was very strong so ask your doc if it's ok to!

Really just depends on your own comfort level. We told people way earlier than we expected too and it's been a snowball effect ever since! It's been comforting to know we have so many prayer warriors out there for us now though ? It is true that once a healthy heartbeat is detected your risk of miscarriage drops to below 30% vs. below 20% after 12 weeks, in my opinion not that much difference there! Do what feels right to you.
