When will I have my 1st scan?

I found out on Friday that I am pregnant. I was asked to fill out a form and told a midwife would be in touch to arrange my first appt/scan.

How many weeks do you normally have your first scan? I'm in England by the way.

I would really apprecially a reply from those of you who have had your first scan already. I wasn't tracking my ovulation sohaven't a clue how many weeks I am?!

I'm in the US, it's common for the first visit to be around 8-10 weeks. I waited until 10 weeks, so that baby would be bigger and more mobile.

My ob won't see you before 7 weeks. My appointment is nov 14 and I found out oct 20th. I will be about 8 weeks

In England you usually see the midwife for a booking in appointment at about 9 weeks and have your first scan at 12 weeks where they will give you an accurate due date.

Hi Louise!
I came off the pill in May after being on it 10 years. I had one natural period and then absolutely nothing since! We wernt trying for a baby then but i kept on doing pregnancy tests just to check, and they were negatives which i believe were genuine as we were careful. Went on honeymoon 1st of october and we started trying then. The day we got back on the 20th i did a test and it was positive! Phoned local midwife clinic and I have my first appointment this tuesday 1st Nov. She did say she might send me for an early scan to determine exactly how many weeks I am xx

I was supposed to be 13 weeks to have my first scan. I measured 10 weeks though.

My first scan won't be until I'm 8 weeks which is on nov 7th the two doctors offices I've called said they don't start appointments untill 8 weeks as in the can really get a good look at the baby and everything
