is there an alternative to epidural?
So I was discussing a birth plan with my doctor. I told her I def want vaginal birth as my first was an emergency cesarean because he flipped in labor and was breech.
Anyway, I went home and started thinking.... I do NOT want a needle in my spine. So I'm going to attempt unmedicated. Which I feel I can do because with my first pregnancy, I felt my contractions, (had no medication) but the contractions weren't painful to me. I got dialated all the way to 7 and 100 percent effaced and was completely okay until I had to be put to sleep immediately bc he flipped around and was coming out feet first.
But I'm just wondering, is there an alternative to sticking something in my spine if I feel like I really need some pain medication? Because I probably won't be able to sit and let them do the epidural thing. It's so terrifying to me. More than labor itself.
