Has anyone been induced but not needed the pitocin?

Like I had cervidil put in at around 5:30 and it's now 10:50 and I've been having contractions. I didn't want to be induced in the first place so that's why I'm hoping maybe pitocin won't be necessary!

My water broke at 38 weeks with my last pregnancy at 8 in the morning. I was told to take my time to get to the hospital since I was not having contractions. I arrived at the hospital at 12 noon and was not dilated at all. They placed a whole pill in my cervix supposed to half (come to find out that was an accident on the nurses part) and I went from 0-10 in 30 minutes! I had my son @ 12:30 that day! I wouldn't want it to happen the same way this time as speeding through labor that way was a little traumatic for me but me and my baby were fine and I felt 100% better right after he came out! With my first I went into labor after they put in the cervadil

It was my second induction though, they placed the cervidil around 7pm, and by 10-11pm that night true contractions began on their own.

Cervadil is supposed to soften the cervix, not start contractions. However, it CAN start them. It's just not made to do so.
