normal?

I am at about 5 weeks and 3 days, and a week and a half ago I had an ultrasound and saw an empty sack, today I had another one and it's still an empty sack. 
After seeing the sack and waiting a week and half is it normal to the sack empty?? No fetal pole, and no yoke...

It's normal. You won't see anything until around 6/7 weeks

Typically the earliest you see a fetal pole is at six weeks. Has a doctor suggest that you come back in in a week or two?

I wouldn't worry until about 6 weeks. Your dating could be off so you may not be as far along as you thought. Or you implanted late which is slowing development at this stage. Generally by 6 weeks you should be able to see at least a yolk sack. Before then, it's too early to see anything. At my 5 week 4 day appointment we saw a yolk. Then at 6 weeks 6 days there was a fetal pole
