Birth plan down the tubes, but she's here! 💕
Plan was to have an unmedicated birth. Did cytotec and made decent progress (from 1-2.5 in 4 hours). Broke my water and progressed another 1cm in about 2 hours. I folded like a blanket and asked for an epidural at this point because the fetal monitoring that baby needed (irregular heart rate) wouldn't pick up her heartbeat unless I was laying almost flat on my back. I knew I couldn't make it through an unmedicated birth without being able to move. So I got the epidural and stayed on the pitocin for another 8 or 9 hours and made zero progress and baby's heart rate was distressed. Doc could also feel her head smooshing out of my cervix and knew my pelvis was too narrow to let her through. So plan changed to c-section. I cried and cried all the way to the OR and through the entire procedure--I was just so disappointed. But my beautiful baby girl came out perfectly healthy and beautiful. I'm so, so grateful for that. ❤️
