It really depends at 35 weeks. I had a nephew that was born at 35 weeks and was 6lbs10oz and perfectly healthy. He went home after 48 hours in the hospital with no NICU time. But, some babies need a little extra lung help and have to spend some time in the NICU.

I had my son at 34 weeks 1 day. Doctor said he was 1 day away from being considered a premie. He weighted 8lbs 10oz. He didn't have to spend anytime in the NICU. His only issue was getting his blood sugar up. But after being in the hospital 3 days, he got his sugar up and we got to go home.

Depends if there is any complications, also baby's weight. Mine was born at 34+4 and she was on the NICU for a few days, she was 5#8oz. Dr told me if she was over 35 weeks there would've been no NICU, she was the healthiest baby in there, it was just as a precaution and hospital policy for babies born before 35 weeks.
