experiences with cervidil?

I'm due to be induced this Sunday/Monday. I go in Sunday to get cervidil inserted then will start pitocin Monday. I'll be 38w3d. I'm currently 1cm dilated but not effaced at all.. Cervix is still high. I'm being induced due to a few medical reasons.. Lupus, gestational diabetes, and too much amniotic fluid. I would love to hear experiences with cervidil and induction.. Did the cervidil help efface and dilate? Did it bring on labor? I'm a ftm and I'm very nervous and anxious. I'm just praying and hoping that everything goes smoothly and I deliver a healthy baby girl with no complications!

I was induced using it my doctor told me every women is different some go into labor with it some done some need one or more doses of it. For me it did both dilate and efface after the second dose it brought on contractions but nothing serious. The next morning they started my pitocin. The only issue I had was my blood pressure it had been perfect my entire pregnancy then while in labor it was high but after I gave birth it was perfect again. Now just be aweare that pitocin will make your contractions more intense then they would be if you were to go into labor on your own,
