What do contractions feel like?

Do they feel like period cramps at first or can you actually feel your muscles contract??

I compare them to the worst gut clinching diarrhea cramps you've ever had times 10! I've only had contractions after being induced, which I have heard are worse.?

Mine started as period cramps x 100 (but I only ever had mild period cramps) then by the end they were like period cramps x a million that felt like my body was trying to turn inside out. You just have to go with it. It's your body opening up and expelling something large from inside you to the outside

Everyone is different mine where very strong cramping that got worse as time went on they   where very painful I couldn't stand if I wanted to.

I think for everybody they feel different.  Cause I'm 32 weeks and a couple of days ago I was having dull like pains on my side that felt like a pinch that would come and go  . So I decided to go in and they said they were contractions .
