Babies heartbeat

So I'm the UK and with my son I heard the heart beat at 16 weeks. Now 2nd pregnancy I have now moved to another area and the midwife her told me I will not hear the heartbeat until 28 weeks!!! How many weeks were you when u heard you little one heart beat ? 28 weeks seems a long time to me!
