Would you say the first year of marriage is the hardest?

Nope.  Living in different states before we got married was the hard part in our relationship.  Marriage is the easy part.

Not necessarily.  I think it depends on how you approach it, and how many of the little hiccups of integrating your lives together you've worked out before tying the knot.

I just mean, in general. As in, getting along, arguing, getting used to marriage. 
Do you feel you argue more and get along less in the first year?

No. Losing jobs was hardest for us. He had two companies close on him in one year. The mental struggle that goes along with looking for work is brutal and add financial strain on top of that and far away from family. It was not an easy year.
