Racism Stories
I always find it really interesting to hear about what everyone else has gone through in regards to microagressions and just racism in general. So I thought I'd start a thread of a bunch of them!!
• Being constantly asked if I ate cats (mostly around middle school, even had a grown man ask me)
• When I was 13 I wore a baseball cap and my friends boyfriend said I looked like "an Asian trying to be ghetto" I cried at the time but now it's really funny to me
• I used to work at Walgreens (home of old white people) and had a man ask me where I was from and how long I lived there. I really didn't mind and told him I'm from China and was only there for the first 8 months of my life. He then proceeded to ask me "how I liked it here"
• In high school, some of my friends said they were scared of me because I "probably have a black belt in martial arts"
