Can you breast feed and formula feed?

Can you breast feed and formula feed? I'm a FTM and wondering rn side I was told you can do both but was also told you can only do one or the other ??

I breastfeed 95% of the time and supplement the other times. I nurse him throughout the night and pump every 4 hours during the day, letting him nurse when we are home also. I give him 2oz of formula when he is still hungry after nursing/bottle. It helps when I'm trying to build my supply of milk up in the fridge and freezer.

Yes it's called mix feeding. 
A lot of midwives advise against it but people do it.

Yes I did mix feeding just make sure to keep pumping so your supply doesn't drop

You can theoretically but in some cases it can affect your supply. Also, some babies develop a preference for one over the other. Some will never take a bottle from mom. And also you will be going through the hassles of both.

Healthwise, exclusive breastfeeding is best followed by some breastfeeding followed by formula. That said, a hungry baby is not a healthy baby so some mothers have no choice but to supplement and some mothers have issues with breastfeeding or the baby cannot tolerate the breast milk so they cannot do it anyway.

You can, technically. But formula supplementation often causes you to not breastfeed enough to keep your supply up.
