Baby Shower for #2?

Question

I'm due with #2 March 21st. Backstory is that I had a girl (my first) February 21, 2016 and am now due with a boy in March 2017. Is it selfish to have a baby shower when I had one a year ago? There are some things needed since baby is a boy and there are also some things I wanted that I didn't know I needed with the first. What would you do?

I wouldn't but a lot of people do. Has anyone offered to throw you one? If they do, just let them. But it might look greedy if you beg someone to have one for you. As for throwing your own shower...just use that money to buy things for the baby instead.  Some people do diaper showers for their second, third, etc. Folks might not be as eager to get you nice, or expensive gifts for this one.

I'm having my 3rd girl and my 3rd baby shower! I believe in a shower for each baby! I spend way more on the party and catering than I would get from gifts anyways I don't even expect many gifts. All I want is everyone gathered celebrating that a new baby is coming 💕

I had my daughter the same day as you and now also due in march! Crazy lol but I said if it's a boy definitely doing a sprinkle shower. If it's a girl then I'll do nothing.

In my experience most family and friends want to help in some way either way, so if I were you I would at least do a registry just in case anyone asks you.
I have a three year old boy and am now expecting a girl.. I live 12 hours from my family and friends because of what my husband does for a living, and we are going to be moving overseas in February.. we aren't visiting before all of our stuff gets sent over, so I can't have a baby shower, but my family and friends still ask about it, so I'm guessing it's not uncommon especially when you're having a different gender. I've seen people on their third and fourth children still have baby showers so I think you're okay 😊

I'm having a baby shower for my second and it's another boy. I have lots of new friends with this baby and one of them wanted to throw me one. Since I have all the essentials I'll basically ask for wipes diapers maybe small books or toys idk yet but not extravagant at all. More just a celebration for this little one.

I have the same dilema. While my baby shower for my daughter was in November of 2013 I don't need any big items. We are reusing the crib, car seat and stroller. So we just need clothes and blankets for baby boy as I plan on breastfeeding. But like a friend told me just do something small to celebrate the new life that is being created in your womb.
