Discrimination at work?!

I'm currently 21+5 and I feel like my manager is picking on me for being pregnant! He's told me if I have a doctors appointment (emergency or not) I have to make up the time that I've been at the appointment or forfeit my pay for that time. Also he's told me going to an emergency doctors appointment (after having a bleed) and not coming into work beforehand was inconsiderate to my other colleagues because their lunches had to be changed!!! I also still suffer from morning sickness, some days it's from when I wake to when I go back to sleep, and he's asking why I keep being sick even though I hate anti-sickness tabs... erm maybe because I'm pregnant and it's one of those things?! And I'm sure it states that I'm entitled to be paid for any antenatal care incl. doctors appointments?? (I live in the UK) Just frustrating because Im at a point where I dread going to work, anyone have any advice or am I just being over sensitive?🤔

Some of it seems rude...maybe like he just doesn't understand the struggles of pregnancy.
But if you miss time for appointments he's allowed to ask you to make the time up for pay.
They have to give you time off for appointments, but they don't have to pay you for it.

You 100% need to bring this up to HR, it's against the law for them to discriminate against you. Check out the .gov website about maternity and pregnancy rights. I think if you are off work sick with pregnancy related issues they can't discipline you or anything. I'm not too sure about if they can force you to make the time up xx

Sounds like the way he's handling it is douchey, but I don't get paid for time I take off to go to doctors appointments unless I have PTO available. I was diagnosed with cholestasis last week and I have to have non stress tests done twice a week plus my OB visit once a week. That's three times a week I have to be at appointments. My boss told me I can leave and come back but if I want paid for those hours I have to make up the time. I can only make up the time if they are offering it to everyone as overtime. It sucks but at least I'm able to keep my job.

You're not overreacting at all. I'm the manager where I work and the owner is terrible to me. She doesn't want any kids and doesn't understand people who do. I'm leaving my job over it.

Your manager is an a$$.  His approach to handling your pregnancy is just plain awful.

However,  if you took time off to see your doctor while you are on the clock,  you should make up for it.  Or you use your vacation time for the doctor appointments.  I take a long lunch for my appointments but I either go into the office early or work late to make up the hour(s)  that I missed and also finish the work that I should have completed.

It sounds like your position needs coverage if you are not there,  which leads to reshuffling of other peoples schedules.  His concern is legitimate,  but his attitude is horrible.  If your not showing up impacts your colleagues,  yes,  it's unfair to them.
