Slow Down Weight Gain?
20 weeks, 5 days and trying to slow down my weight gain. I'm barely 5'0" and normal weight pre pregnancy. Doc would like to see 25-30 lbs total and I've already put on 15-16. I gained a lot in first trimester since cheese, bread and pasta were the only things I could stomach.( Normally don't eat refined carbs or cheese but that's what baby wanted!)
I am super health conscious, work out 5-6 days a week as it is and have already significantly cut back on the carbs (but not the cheese!) this trimester. Trying to figure out other ways to slow down the weight gain. Doc says I'm on track but I'd really like to find ways to slow down the weight gain and / or lose body fat without harming the baby. (He is measuring exactly where he should be at each check up.) Brutally honest hubs has conceded I've gained more than just baby weight but tries to assure me it's not as bad as I think it is.
Also have four close friends due around the same time and can easily say I've put on more weight than everyone - even the ones who are due before I am. My sister only gained 18 lbs her entire pregnancy, and my hubs' sis keeps telling me she barely looked 6 months pregnant when she was due with her first (I'm a tad shorter than both). Basically feeling like a big fatty mcfatterson in comparison to everyone, and it's been tough on me emotionally.
Any tips? TIA!
