how soon is it too soon?

So I'm barely only 4 weeks pregnant, haven't seen my ob until next week. But I want to know how soon is it too soon to tell the family our news? I don't want to tell anyone just yet at least not until I see my doctor. But once I do when is the right time to let everyone know?

We told everyone at 5 weeks. And here we are 33 weeks.

Most say dont make an official announcement till after 12 weeks but honestly its whenever you feel the time is right.

Rule of thumb...only tell those that you would like to celebrate with but also need for support if things don't go well. And I didn't tell anyone else until 12+ weeks and didn't announce on social media until after my anatomy scan.

I'm planning on waiting until 14 weeks to announce. If a miscarriage is going to occur, is most common to happen in the first trimester. I've had 2 in the first 8 weeks, so I will wait. But do what's best for you!

I would wait a little while to tell the family! The only people who knew I was pregnant with my daughter was my SIL until I was about 8-9 weeks! It just makes it easier and less stress

This time around hubby and I told parents/siblings as soon as we found out.  I'm currently 7wks4days. Our last pregnancy we told parents/siblings at 8wks then announced to the rest of our family/social media at 20wks. Lost our baby at 21 wks. Sooo... You tell who you want when you want. Just make sure outside of your SO that you have backup support and people praying...

Tell key people as soon as you want  , I told my man and  close friend as soon as i found out my dad and stepmom at around 6 weeks.. Really depends on you. With my first I told everyone as soon as I found out. With my second I did as well then I ended up having a miscarriage and I felt horrible didn't know how to tell people so I didn't tell many but had many still congratulate me and ask me how far along I was and it was hard. I waited with my third to say anything until I was sure.

We lived across the country when we found out, and we're lucky enough that both our families were coming down to visit right after we found out. We really wanted to tell them in person, so my parents found out the day after we found out (not ideal, because we didn't really have time to celebrate, but better than seeing them all weekend and then waiting a few weeks to tell them over the phone...), and homies parents came down when I was 8 weeks, so we told them then. I think it all depends on how you feel, and how strong you are at keeping secrets! Also, if something were to happen would you want them to know so they could support you? I knew I would, so it didn't bother me to share! Now I'm 39 weeks, and waiting on babe to make her appearance! Good luck!
