Where would you recommend putting your car seat?

There is lots of discussions behind this. I've heard to set them in the middle incase of side impact accident. I've also heard to sit them behind the front seats so they don't become projectile during front or read impact. (As a EMS/fire fighter, I've seen it all happen)

My car's manual said more than once do not place the car seat in the rear middle position. I would read your car's manual and find out what's safest for you.

Middle is statistically safer. It is however a lot easier to get the kid in and out when they are on the side. And when kid number two comes along at least one if not both will have to be on the sides (unless you have a big back seat). If the older and younger siblings aren't separated then you run the risk of big brother smacking crying baby sister. Just something to think about.

It depends on your car. Based on both my car and my car seat instructions, it is best to use the LATCH system in my vehicle which would be behind the passenger seat. I have a Ford Escape and a Britax car seat.

I had my son always behind the passenger seat incase my husband had him alone, he'd be able to look over his shoulder and see him easily.

I believe that most car seats recommend that they seat goes in the middle. We went to a car seat installation clinic run by the police department and they said the middle as well.

I agree that it depends on the vehicle. I drive a truck, so I'm not supposed to use the middle seat in the back. Look in your cars manual for the best info.

I would like to put ours in the middle but I drive a 2010 Yukon and it's quite a reach to the middle. Anyone have a Yukon and can weigh in?

We have a truck and the back driver side and middle seat go up and then the passenger seat is its own up and down so since my SO needs to put tools in there or I need groceries our LO in on the passenger side. I think middle is safest but it doesn't work for us to have him there..
