How bad is teething, really?

What has the teething experience Been like for you? We're not there yet but I'm wondering what to expect. Is it really as bad as some people would make you believe?

Crying at night and a little fever. Fine during day. Liquid Tylenol works wonders

I really think it depends. My baby wasn't that bad. A little cranky once in a while but never ran a fever and never affected his sleep. I used a little oregel and cold teething rings and he was happy. It's not everyone's experience though. I didn't even know he was teething till I felt his teeth lol

It depends. My little one certainly handled the pain well but he done so by being attached to me or sleeping constantly!

It depends on the baby and what teeth are coming in. All I can say is good luck and hopefully it's an easy road for you and baby!

My son is so Whitney and clingy when it gets really bad. He barely sleeps, eats sooo much and just wants to bite everything! No fevers though, which is great but it's absolutely exhausting. His first tooth finally popped through, so hopefully we have a good nights sleep (finally)

Mine was mostly crabby with the first one. Just a little fussier than normal during the day. Sleep for her was the toughest. 2nd tooth I hardly knew until it was there!

Oh and my little one totally bite me while nursing several times. She has only done that when really in pain from teething. OUCH (for me)!

The drool omg and between that and the battle to prevent her eczema on her double chins. We go through a lot of bibs. And how she always has her fingers in her mouth makes them wet and they get so cold I'm just scared she's going to get sick.

He gets frustrated most of the time, he's very dribbly and cranky. Bonjela works sometimes but most of the time if he's screaming and I can't calm him Children's Panadol and bonjela works wonders. :) 
But he does want his cuddles most often, he has been standing up.. Which results in him eating the cot, it has plastic on the railing. Which he doesn't use, he just goes straight to the wood xD 
His first bottom left tooth did cut through yesterday, and his right one is just touching the surface.
