labor or not??

I've been in the hospital for 2 and a half hours, originally here for extremely high amount of discharge, I called the dr and he said come in just to be safe, it wasn't my water or anything, just a lot of discharge. They're. Making me stay though because I'm having contractions every 4 minutes, and having some pretty awful lower back pain. The back pain in really low, and almost feels like it is in my tailbone. No idea what's going on, my doctor hasn't been in for the past 30 minutes..
