How long is a bouncer useful for?

Everyone says the mamaroo is amazing. But I am also given to understand a bouncer is only useful for a few months. Is it worth spending the money on an expensive bouncer?

My kid hated the mamaroo. He used his bouncer and a regular $50 swing way more! The mamaroo was a waste of money. Don't believe the hype!

It just depends on the baby. Ours loved his bouncer when he was little (not a mamaroo, but just a regular bouncer). He just turned 5 months and has not used it in a month or so. He hates it now that he can sit upright when supported in something like an exersaucer.

My son hated the bouncer and the swing we borrowed from my sister in law but luckily he loved our rock n play. Every baby is different but I think more people get can get away without having them then they think.

I was dating a guy whose mom had twins and they wee in their bouncers most of the time. It keeps baby occupied and calm most of the time. So id say it's usefull
