So my husband and I went to Babies R Us to register today (I had already started a registry online but we wanted to see some of the bigger items in person). I was really hoping it would be a fun bonding experience, and in some ways it was, but it was also seriously overwhelming...on top of the tons of choices for every item, we discovered that cribs and baby furniture are INSANELY expensive! Now we're trying to figure out what we really need and don't need, but I'm frustrated because my hubs wants to just get the crib and use an old 3 drawer dresser we have...I really wanted a matching set of furniture, but at the same time I think it's insane to spend $800-1,500 (the general range we saw for 2-3 pieces) on furniture alone. Has anyone else run into this issue yet? Any ideas or solutions?
