unable to conceive...

I was diagnosed with PCOS and put on metformin earlier this year but the Metformin only caused me to completely lose my period (I didn't have my period for 6 months). So I stopped taking it. I asked my doctor if we could try something else but she said Metformin was all she could put me on. She referred me to a clinic but my insurance doesn't cover fertility treatment & my husband is not willing to let me pay the $$$ out of pocket for a visit to a fertility specialist. He says it will happen when we let it happen and he doesn't want doctors poking and prodding at me. He feels this way because his sister in law went and got fertility treatment and ended up pregnant but the pregnancy didn't stick and she ended up having emergency surgery due to complications. 

I feel stuck. I feel as though I won't get pregnant naturally and as I'm getting older (I'll be 28 next year) my chances of conceiving get smaller. I've talked to him about it and he just won't budge. 🙁😢
