Should I like this guy?

Im in high school so this might seem silly to some but i like this guy, a lot, and hes a year older than me. He smokes weed which i don't really care about but just worried my parents wont like him. Biggest problem is i think he's too attractive for me. Is it even worth it? I really like him and he makes me smile but i don't want to waste my time.
