New doctor...PCOS testing..?

I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago, even though I thought for years I had it. I almost never have a period, gained a lot of weight and have super fun hair growth on my face (that's the best one :/ ). I've had a hormone panel done and it was normal but it didn't make sense bc I don't have a period so how would they know if my numbers were accurate?? 
I tried taking Metformin but it didn't help regulate my periods and I've been ttc since March with no luck.

My insurance changed so I'm changing doctors and wanting to have all new tests done. I don't know if PCOS is a correct diagnosis, I've also read about thyroid issues with similar symptoms.

I'm wondering what tests I should ask for, blood tests or otherwise. I just feel so frustrated with a lack of answers so I would really like to be prepared when I see my doctor.

Just get copies of your medical records and take them along and ask to have your thyroid tested too. I never had metformin but I took clomid as I wasn't ovulating and was able to conceive on round 2,3 and 4 after years of trying. 
On a side note with the hair growth- I have a home ipl machine called an e-one, it is amazing.. Because of PCOS I would be bearded lady without it!!

PCOS hormone testing focuses on LH/FSH  ratio first. Anything > 2:1 can be considered diagnostic criteria. We'd been TTC for almost a year when my Dr ordered CD3 lab draw for hormones. My ratio was 4:1 - he basically diagnosed it wo an ultrasound. I literally have ZERO symptoms other than long cycles (35-37 days). I'm physically fit and exercise regularly.  I lead a very healthy lifestyle. Optimal lipid panel. No insulin issues. It's actually very depressing knowing how hard I work to be healthy and then some Stupid blood work cripples me w abnormal hormone levels.  Not feeling so great. Sadness sunk in quick 😢

I went through 4 drs. To finally find one that cared to help me. What one dr. Did in one appt. Others did in 4 appts. The dr. That is treating me ordered a hormone panel and ultrasound. It was found to be that i am insulin resistant and have had larged ovaries  with the pearl like cysts lined up around the ovaries. You can get a visual by gooling pcos ovaries.

I thought they only tested testosterone levels and glucose levels for PCOS?
