Long distance relationship

So my boyfriend and i are in a ldr for about 3 months now. We have been together for 6 months. We don't visit each other. We talk on the phone, text and Skype. He wants to breakup because he can't handle being in a ldr. I am supposed to visit him this weekend and two weeks after is thanksgiving break. After that we just have two or more weeks before winter break, I told him we would see each other then. I also said we could seat down and make plans to visit each other when school starts like once a month. What do you guys think?
