Am I the only one that hates breastfeeding??

I see all of these mamas posting about how much they love BFing their babes and I am sooo not into it. I really want to be! My son lazily nurses and usually fusses during, latches and unlatches often and wants to nurse again an hour later. Id almost rather keep pumping and giving him a bottle than nurse! Tell me I'm not the only one?? 😓 Will I ever enjoy nursing him? He's 5 weeks old, but door to a poor latch (preemie) he's only been BFing for about a week, prior it's been primarily pumped into a bottle for him or through a syringe.

Right there with you. My baby has been formula fed since 6 weeks old. He was the LAZIEST nurser and at 4.5 months, he is still a lazy eater most of the time. Sometimes takes an hour to finish a 6oz bottle. He likes to take his time and will still fall asleep where I have to continuesly stimulate him to finish the bottle. It's way better than breastfeeding was though cause when he does finish, I know he's ate enough and stays full for 4-5 hours so Im not stuck at home on the chair anymore. I hated pumping too. Being stuck to a pump every few hours and washing all the parts over and over while hardly producing anything but at the same time being engorged..I was so miserable. Everyone on here says, " oh they'll grow out of that, it'll get better" Nope. Not with my baby anyway. It's just the way he eats. Atleast I gave breastfeeding a shot. It just doesn't work for everyone. I plan to try again with my next baby and hopefully it'll work out. If not, then formula it'll be.

I had a really rough time nursing for the first two months and would have moments of hating it and wanting to quit! Latching issues, supply drama, weight gain problems....it was rough. Feeling like it was alalllll on me! With the constant unpredictable nursing sessions..

Now at three and a half months o can't imagine NOT nursing my LO. I've returned to work and go crazy to pump to keep her having BM and enjoy even more nursing her in the mornings and evenings.

It was by far one of the greatest challenges of being a mom ( so far) but also the most rewarding...
You can always go to support groups- la leche league has free groups pretty much everywhere!

The beginning was really rough for us, i would cry and dread feeding sessions. It hurt so much, I felt anxious and sad. I didn't have support, if I even tried to talk about my pain my family would try to push me to give formula. It was so painful I hated it and I just wanted to give up everyday. Baby would also spend a whole hour nursing and 1:30-2 hours later she'd be hungry again and I always worried I had low supply. 
Now at 14 weeks, I can't even remember when the pain stopped, but I'm thankful that it's getting better and baby takes less time to eat. Also she's gaining weight and thriving (proof I don't have a supply problem) I still feel like all I do is breastfeed and change diapers and sometimes I get sad, but for the most part I'm glad that initial pain subsided.

At the end of the day the decision is yours, only you know what's best for your baby. I also believed BF isn't for me but I wanted to make sure I tried my hardest before I gave up. Sometimes I pump milk and give the baby to my partner or my mom just so I can have a break. 
I really believed it was never going to get better but eventually one day it did. 
You have so many options: BF, exclusive pumping, formula, some of this some of that.

Your not the only one who hates it, pretty much everyone hates it at the beginning! I hated it, didn't feel any bonding, and would cringe and cry when my daughter wanted my breast. After about two weeks it got better but not great, by about 4-5 weeks it was easier and finally could relax and experience the bonding. You've only been doing it a week, it will get better, but you have to give the baby more breast and less bottle. The bottle has made it harder to wang to work to get the milk from the breast.

Personally I loved breastfeeding but I have read other women post things about not enjoying it so please know you are not alone. My second son was a preemie and I know what you mean about their feedings being less efficient. It will get better as they get older. Be encouraged. Good luck

Not a fan (though that is what I'm doing as I type this). I know it's supposed to be better and my husband really prefers it, though we did supplement feed a little because he saw how stressed out it was making me in the beginning. And sometimes now I pump so he can feed because I need a day of not having someone physically attached to my body.

You need to do what is best for you too. I'm so sick of everyone butting in and telling me what's best for my body and my daughter. I was a formula fed baby and turned out just fine. So do what feels best for you and don't let people's comments get to you. As long as baby gets fed, that's what matters.

My daughter is almost 10 weeks. I hated it a lot at first. She had a tongue and lip tie, which we got fixed. She gets gassy and fussy when eating. She eats on demand so sometimes every hour...sometimes up to three hours so I often feel very trapped. I still don't like it although I hate it less. What keeps me going is knowing it's the best I can offer and formula is expensive and we don't have a lot of money. So I'm chugging away on this road, proud every day I last, but really unsure how long I can continue. Sigh.

Have you had your baby checked for a tongue/lip tie?? My one month old went undiagnosed until recently. I knew something was up...he was always unlatching, fussing and then still hungry shortly after. He was also having a lot of gas pain and spitting up. I called on a LC and she pointed out that he has a slight posterior tongue tie and a very small lip tie. She said it's enough to cause these issues. It got completely overlooked at the hospital and by my pediatrician bc it's not a classic tongue and lip tie. We are having it fixed next week and I'm praying his latch and his belly problems get better!!

I found feeding at the breast to be very stressful! Baby latched right away after birth and did well in the hospital, so I was really excited about breast feeding. After getting home, my milk really didn't come in at all for about 5 days, then would come and go. He wouldn't latch, and would get so angry and thrash his head around from hunger.  He was also not peeing enough.  It took two of us just to get him calm enough to latch at all. Lactation consultant had me try and latch, and then give formula, donated breast milk or milk I pumped if he didn't. So I was spending about a half hour trying to get him to latch on at least one side, then pumping after to stimulate supply and get milk for feeding, and then repeating every 2-3 hours. I was exhausted and I I just couldn't handle the mental anguish of trying to get him to latch anymore. I switched to exclusive pumping, and life got much better. I did have to rebuild my supply because it was almost nothing by the time I switched. Taking herbal lactation capsules, eating oatmeal with almonds and flax seeds every day, and pumping every 3 hours, it took about two weeks to have a decent supply. Still supplementing with formula about 1 bottle a day, but feeling good about production and knowing how much my baby is eating. He is satisfied, gaining weight and peeing! So much stress was relieved for me to switch to pumping.  I only have 6 weeks at home, and I didn't want to spend it stressed out.
