Twins?!?

So I have twins that run in my family and my generation is next to have twins. I highly doubt I am pregnant with twins but I feel like I've been having a lot of symptoms that come later on in pregnancy and I feel like I have gained a lot of weight already and I'm only 6 weeks pregnant. Someone who had or knows someone who had twins can you give me some insight?!?

First of all, twins don't "skip generations" that's a misconception. There's a gene for hyper ovulation that causes women to ovulate more than one egg at a time. The reason it seems to skip a generation is because a male can carry the gene and pass it on to his daughter. Secondly, if the twins are identical, they just happened out of chance. Identical twins have no gene attached to them.

Anyway, the only way to tell if you're carrying twins is an ultrasound. Some women have extreme symptoms and high hcg, but only carry one, and some women carry multiples and barely have symptoms. It's a little early to tell. Good luck!! Praying for a h&h 9 months to you either way 😊😊
