So I've had my IUD for about 9 months now. My period is basically nonexistent at this point and I'm constantly paranoid about pregnancy so I'm taking a test just about every month. My question is, if my period disappears is that a sign of effectiveness?

I have had my mirena for 2 years now and I don't get my period either. I used to be really paranoid but the longer I had it I began to trust it more and more. Just make sure the strings are still in place every once in a while. But if you do feel the need to test monthly there's nothing wrong with that!

Yes, hormonal IUDs are still effective even if you don't have a bleed. A common side effect is that your period stop with hormonal IUDs.

Theirs different IUD's some that do cause you to not have your period vs the one that doesn't have hormones and is suppose to make you keep your period.
