Do you use pacifiers?

I grew up with babies having pacifiers and now that I'm having my own baby I figured he would have them too but noticed they don't really have many at stores anymore. For all you mama's, do you use pacifiers? And if you don't, what's the reasoning behind not using them anymore?

I use them. I do so, because contrary to popular belief , pacifiers make DON'T make  harder on baby to feed nor to latch back on. 
Baby knows when he or she is hungry,  that know a pacifier won't give them food and they will spit it back up in seconds and demand bottle or boob. 
My daughter rarely wants her pacifier but I do give it to her when she takes it. She's 3.5 weeks old and if I try to trick her for a minute as I go get her a bottle, by giving her a pacifier,  she will spit it up in 5 seconds and scream her heart out- as if she's saying :" really,  REALLY LADY?! DO U THINK I'M STUPID? I AM HUNGRY -FEED ME- NOW!"

I don't want a thumb sucker. It's much easier to break from a pacci than a thumb that is attached to your body.

My reason is it creates nipple confusion when establishing breastfeeding and can cause their teeth to come in weird if used after teething has started. As well I didn't want my kids relying on them to comfort themselves, in my opinion it starts the habit of needing to do something with their mouth for the rest of their lives. Whether that habit is comfort eating or smoking. It hasn't been proven of course but it is a line I've drawn from my own observations. My husband and I are both binki  babies and I have a over eating problem that I struggle with while he smokes. Our kids are not binki babies and the 2 older ones (the ones showing trackable habits) are not always hungry or needing to put things in their mouths. The youngest is always hungry right now cause she about to hit a growth spurt.

I will let my baby make that decision for me.  We have a 2 pack.  Some babies don't like them while others live them.

They are all over stores around here. Walmart has an entire 4 foot section of pacifiers. We had some for our son. He was a preemie and used one for about a day. He spit it out and never wanted another one. Works for us. Better than needing to break him from it later.

My son loved them when he was done eating and would spit them out when he was knocked out. But he hates them now and he stopped using them at 3 months mind you after buying him more. Smh but he just uses it as a teething toy.

My mother said I was attached to mine.. my first daughter hated them.. and this lil girl we will see .. Id purchase a few and if liked then you can get more.. I had around 15 for my daughter that all got thown away.. reason I had so many is because I was told they have a way of disappearing lol

My kids never liked them. I thought it was a fluke with my first but my second hated them too. I think maybe because more babies are breastfed now and people are worried about nipple confusion so we don't use them super early like they use to.

My baby loves his dummy, uses it loads in a day. Before a feed, after a feed, after a bath, when he's getting his nappy changed, before going to bed to help him settle to sleep, sometimes he just likes sitting there with one...he just loves sucking lol 😊

Yes. I have an 18 month old and a 4 month old. Neither likes the nuk ones they gave us in the hospital. I offered my son an agent one since he used avent bottles and he took it right away. He could take it in and out if his own mouth by 4 months which was nice. Now we're phasing out if it with him and he only gets it for bedtime. My daughter uses the same bottles but gagged on every binky I got her until I found the MAM orthodontic ones. She likes them, but is very picky about when she wants to take it.
