Am I right to feel offended at this?

I am almost 18. So, my parents had a fight over the fact that I wanted to have a heater in my room before I went to bed so I could sleep in the warmth. My dad said he was going to pack his shit and leave. So finally my dad let me keep the heater in my room but they insisted on me bringing it into the hallway at night. Their reason for me not being able to keep it in my room for long, and not even every night is because they think im going to leave it on and burn my house down. I light candles and use lighters all the time, which they know, yet apparently they "wouldn't be able to sleep" knowing I had the heater in my room, while I like to sleep naked and that doesn't work as well when its freezing. I think they are being very selfish by restricting me to having a cold room just cause they have issues worrying about our house exploding or some shit.
