Should I get the flu shot while pregnant? Currently 28 weeks. And I'm SO conflicted.

If your doctor thinks you should then get it. This is also based on your beliefs on the flu shot. I don't get it because it has always made me sick.

I thought about it for awhile and couldn't decide but finally chose that I'm not going to. I read stories about women going into labor after having it and anything like that is just not worth it. I did have my husband get it though as he is the only other one in the house and brings a less chance for it to be in the house. I work from the home as well so I'm not out and around people as much.

I'm more concerned about the long term effects of a vaccine that has not been thoroughly tested than I am about getting sick from the shot. have never had a flu shot in my life and I don't give them to my kids either. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I will be declining it again this season. I do other vaccinations but I don't trust the flu vaccines. Most vaccines are researched and tested for years before released to the public. Because the flu vaccine is different every year, they aren't able to test and research those vaccines for nearly as long, most likely a matter of months, not years. They change the antigens in the vaccine every year to coincide with the strain they are GUESSING will be most common this season and keep everything else the same but that is enough of a change that that I want that vaccine to be tested and researched for YEARS before I'm comfortable with it. I will not be injecting myself or my children with a vaccine that is not throughly tested.

I am also conflicted.  There was a woman who had posted on here... for the flu shot and a week later went into preterm labor.  The flu shot, apparently, carries a risk of preterm labor (other people posted the insert that accompanies the flu shot which suggests this).

I decided to wait until I was at least
Over the 23 week hump (the earliest babies are admitted to the NICU)... but I have gotten the flu every year, vaccine or not.  In the meantime, I am upping my vitamin D intake to strengthen my immune system.

My doctor recommended I get it and what do you know everyone in my house and at work ended up getting it and here I am with no flu lol I don't see why not

Honestly there's no point in getting the flu shot. The flu germs have mutated. So the ones that you'll be vaccinated against no longer exist in that form

NOOO. It weakens your immune system and read the ingredients... 
If your concerned about the flu, up your vitamin c intake and don't be around sickly people. I boil lemons and make all natural lemonade. There are a lot of shots you should get but the flu shot is not needed!!! Strengthen your body naturally to handle things.
