how to stop breastfeeding

My little boy is nearly 5 months old and I have pretty much exclusively bf him with the odd bottle of formula every once in a while. My breastfeeding journey hasn't been one that came easy to me and now I want to wean my little one. I have worked up to giving him 3 bottles throughout the day which is going fine. He still has two feeds throughout the night. Shall I just go cold turkey on these, or just carry on and hope he sleeps through when I start weaning onto solids?
